PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

I abide by four principles:
1. Eat well
2. Lift weights
3. Don't bullshit
4. Destroy Evil

Homemade Cheese

Principle #1: Eat Well

My preferred diet:

  • High protein: eggs, chicken, goat meat/mutton, fish, prawns, and paneer (Hindu non-vegetarian)

  • High fat: butter, cheese, ghee, dahi, yogurt

  • Low Carb/ Preferably no-carb: No sugar, potato, wheat, bread etc. Occasionally a little rice, veggies, cucumbers etc.

After decades of experimentation, partial information or misinformation and cultural influences, I realized a few things:

  • Health is must.

  • Nutrition is important.

  • Knowledge about what constitutes good health and nutrition is the key.

  • It is necessary to understand the science behind our body and what kind of food we can eat.

  • Trust the data and be wary of interpretations, especially of big-agro/big-pharma endorsed studies

  • Do not blindly trust the latest health fad

  • Do not blindly trust government or multilateral body advice, including WHO

Some Media Myths:

  • Your body needs carbs - Nope, it doesn't. The liver can create glucose.

  • There are good carbs and bad carbs - Nope. All carbs are essentially glucose molecules; Carbs = Sugar

  • Fiber is good - Nope. Fiber is also sugar.

  • Butter and ghee is bad for heart - Nope. A generous amount of butter/ ghee is good for health. It was Lord Krishna's favorite food for a reason.

Weights

Principle #2: Lift weights

  • Workout as often as possible

  • Lift heavy weights from time to time while maintaining safety

  • As you age, you need to remain as active as possible

  • Do more reps on lighter weights if required

  • Do high-intensity cardio at least twice a week

  • Do Yoga workouts and breathing exercises

Note: I have been initiated into the Sambhavi Mahamdura Kriya of Isha Yoga/Sadhguru. I am not a spiritual person, I do it for health reasons.

Unbalanced Scales of Justice

Principle #3: Don't Bullshit

  • Don't lie

  • Dot't prevaricate

  • Don't obfuscate

  • Don't waste other's time

  • Say yes or no

  • Answer precisely

  • If you don't know something, say it upfront

  • If you know something, don't blabber

People who bullshit are pathetic. Unfortunately the world is full of inconsiderate jerks who possesses one or more of the above.

  • They are horrible people who over-promise and under-deliver.

  • They stab you behind your backs.

  • In office, such people will waste your time with unending and unproductive meetings.

  • They will try to bring you down with their negativity.

Beware of such nasty people and stay positive.

Save the Planet

Principle #4: Destroy Evil

  • Study and understand evil forces like communism, jihad, evangelism, new world order, wokeism, genderism etc.

  • Study Hindu scriptures from an authentic Guru to learn about dharma and adharma.

  • Intellectually or physically, depending on your personality, fight against adharma.

  • Don't be that selfish coward who says "ahimsa paramo dharma" (non-harm is the greatest virtue) to hide his cowardice

  • Stop watching and funding Bollywood movies which make fun of Hinduism all the time

  • Stop watching Netflix and Amazon Prime for the same reason

Note: I am a student of Advaita Vedanta at Chinmaya mission. They have some of the best qualified knowledgeable no-nonsense teachers/acharyas like Swami Advayananda, who know the tradition/sampradayik knowledge inside out and make the most difficult concepts easy and fun.
